The All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2022 is all set to be conducted on January 09, 2022. Admit cards for the same have been made available on the official website aissee.nta.nic.in. However, keeping in mind the present COVID-19 situation of the country, there is some uncertainty about whether the examination will be conducted on the stipulated date or not.
As per the latest update, the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana or KVPY 2022 has been postponed today. The exam was supposed to be conducted on January 09, 2022, but due to the unprecedented turn of the third wave of COVID-19, the exam has now been postponed. IISc Bangalore, the organizing institute is yet to release the fresh dates for the exam.
The commonality of both AISSEE and KVPY 2022 is that they fall on the same date, i.e. January 09, 2022. Since the latter has been postponed, speculations are rife that there are chances of AISSEE 2022 getting postponed. This, however, is just a prediction and there has been no official update regarding the matter. The official website aissee.nta.nic.in has recently posted a notification regarding the availability of the admit cards for the Sainik School entrance exam. In the notification, it has been stated that if any local administration prohibits movement as a part of the COVID-19 restrictions, then the National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to conduct the examinations of those candidates at a later date.

The excerpt from the notice reads:
In case due to COVID -19 restrictions, under the order of local administration, movement is completely prohibited, the NTA will conduct exam for those candidates at a later date.
At present, the pandemic situation is going through the third wave of COVID-19. The cases in almost every state of the country are seeing a constant surge on a daily surge. Some of them have imposed strict restrictions regarding the movement of people and curfew. Importantly, the schools and other educational institutions have been shut in many states. However, some governments have allowed classes 9 to 12 to function due to the ongoing vaccination process for the 15 to 18 age group.
In light of these events, the decision regarding AISSEE 2022 is still pending. Just in case the examination gets postponed, which is not yet confirmed, then the officials may announce a fresh date on which the Sainik School entrance exam will take place. In any case, the guardians and students are advised to keep checking the official website.
