University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is to host the 6th UPES International Model United Nations conference. The event is to be conducted at the university campus in Bidholi, Dehradun on March 30 and 31, 2019.
As per University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, the conference is hosted to “discuss problems of international importance and more importantly, brainstorm solutions for the future with a focus in delivering quality debate, interesting committees and an experience worth remembering”.
Interested delegates can register for the conference as the first round Individual Delegate Application Form is available on the website. personal details such as name, contact number, WhatsApp number, Email, Institution name, year of study and address are to be submitted.
Also, the three committee preferences, Portfolio preferences, and registration fee: Without Accommodation: Rs. 1500/- and With Accommodation: Rs.3200/- is to be paid by delegates.
Committee and Agenda for the Conference
Now, talking about the Committee and Agenda in which the delegates can participate are UNGA Plenary with agenda High-level Meeting to discuss the gaps and challenges of middle-income countries in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. UNESCO discussing Effect of protection of cultural heritage on development with special emphasis on the comparison between Asia and Europe.
UNSC Historic on Continuous Crisis Committee on the timeline of Kosovo war, UNHRC Review of the universal declaration of human rights and the implications of universal period review of HRC, AIPPM discussing or strengthening the Agriculture Sector and way forward, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cabinet Committee on Security and NFCCC on Capacity building for combating climate change in developing countries.
Interestingly, the university has a prize worth Rs.1.26 Lakhs to be awarded For each committee as follows, Best Delegate: Rs. 8000, High Commendation: Rs. 6000, Special Mention: Rs. 4000.
