With 34 Days To Go for NEET 2021 and No Application Form In Sight, Will The Exam Be Held on 1 August?

The official website of NEET 2021, neet.nta.nic.in, earlier showed 'application form will be available soon'. However, the message has been taken down, and currently, the website has no updates. More factors point towards the postponement of NEET 2021 from August 01, 2021, check here.

34 Days To Go for NEET 2021 and No Application Form In Sight

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has yet not released NEET 2021 application form. Also, the exam date has not been officially postponed from August 01, 2021. This makes the situation more complicated for the NEET 2021 aspirants as they await any news regarding the examination. If the exam were to be held on August 1, 2021, then why have the application forms not released yet, given that only 34 days are left for August 1, 2021.

Till now 2 RTIs have been filed for NEET 2021 application form date and exam date on June 3 and June 15, respectively. In both RTIs, the reply for the NEET 2021 application form was the same, which was: “In view of the COVID-19 Pandemic, NTA is in the process of consultation with the concerned Ministries for finalizing the date to launch the Online Application Form for NEET (UG) 2021. Hence, it is taking some time.”

For the exam date, the reply in the first RTI was that NEET 2021 is scheduled for August 1. If the exam is postponed, then new dates will be notified. However, in the second RTI, the mention of the NEET exam date as August 01, 2021, was removed. Hence there are chances that NEET 2021 will be postponed from August 01, 2021.

Adding to the possibility of postponement is the unavailability of the application form for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2021. Usually, the NEET application forms release 6 to 7 months before the exam. between the form and the exam date, various other important events take place like payment of application fee, corrections in the form, and the release of admit card. Thus there is a need for ample gap between the exam date and form release date.

With 34 days remaining to August 01 and with each passing day, the possibility of NEET 2021 being held on August 01, 2021, is diminishing. Hence there are high chances that NEET 2021 will not be held on August 01, 2021.

Students demand exam date announcement

Anxiety among the NEET 2021 aspirant is at a peak. They have taken into social media to raise their concern for NEET dates. They have directed their voice towards Union Education Ministry Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.

When will NEET 2021 be held?

As per the reports, the sources have claimed that NEET is likely to be postponed to September. The pending sessions of JEE Main 2021 are likely to be conducted either at the end of July or August with 14 days gap between the two exams.

Over social media students have also assumed that NEET 2021 will not be held on August 01, 2021, given the application forms are not out and there are no official updates.

NEET is the single entrance exam for undergraduate medical admissions in India. Every year, around 15 lakh students appear for the medical entrance test. Till last year, NEET was conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and Veterinary seats. For the first time, in 2021, the test will be used for BSc Nursing and BSc Life Sciences programs.
