XAT 2022 Last-Minute Preparation

One of the most important MBA entrance exams i.e., Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2022 is all set to be conducted on January 02, 2022. The exam will be held by the Xavier School of Management through the computer-based format. It is a national-level MNA entrance exam to be held across major cities in India including Mumbai, Pune, Raipur, Chandigarh, and Delhi. As of now, students are left with only two days of preparation time. So, it is high time that they buckle up and begin their preparation for the much-awaited XAT 2022 examination.

Before implementing some important XAT 2022 important preparation tips, a candidate needs to tweak his/her approach to the exam. Unlike other MBA exams like SNAP, XAT focuses more on testing a candidate’s knowledge base, critical thinking, and conceptual clarity. So, it definitely isn’t a speed test.

Also, addressing the query of “Will Guessing Answers Work?”: it is a plain-and-simple ‘no‘. Candidates need to have an understanding of the concept behind each question to arrive at the right answer. So, guesswork is a major risk while solving the XAT 2022 examination.

Coming to the last-minute XAT 2022 preparation tips, the following are some recommended practice tips that a candidate can use, especially in the last two days of preparation –

# Reviewing the Basics

In the case of the Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC) section, candidates must focus on revising and revisiting the grammar rules. they can also spend 2-3 hours solving online tests and grammar-based assessments. The reason is that the VARC section of XAT 2022 is more grammar-centric, paying less attention to passage-based questions. If there is time to spare, candidates can also solve grammar exercises from Wren & Martin and other reference books. For faster revision of grammar rules, they can also watch 2-3 YouTube videos before the exam.

# Identifying the Easier Questions

While revising the Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QA & DI) section, those who have given the CAT 2021 exam in November this year are clearly at an advantage. While the syllabus and difficulty level remain the same, questions in XAT 2022 are lengthier. To tackle this issue, solve 1-2 mock tests for this section. While doing so, try to identify and categorize questions into three sections – easy, moderate, and difficult. Later, solve all questions in this order of difficulty.

# Revising Arithmetic and Geometry Syllabus

The QA & DI section of XAT is always the most difficult section to crack for most candidates. So, if they struggle with this subject, candidates must use the last few hours revising the geometry and Arithmetic syllabus. In the case of Arithmetic, the formulae matter. Whereas in the Geometry section, the concepts and theorems matter. Skim through them briefly before the exam.

# Prioritise Decision Making section

This section will be neglected by most candidates while preparing for the XAT 2022 examination. However, this subject becomes the deciding factor as most students fail to score the cut-off marks in Decision Making. Hence, in the last two days of prep time, make sure to visit the previous-year question papers and solve this section to get some last-minute practice. This will make a huge difference in a candidate’s overall XAT 2022 performance.

All the best!
