The National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) is one of the most important, national-level exams conducted every year. Being the only medical entrance to be organised in the country, students are ardently waiting for the NEET 2022 application form to release. However, the NTA, the conducting body of NEET is yet to provide any specific date for commencement of registration. With a lack of clarity, students are now wondering whether the exam will be delayed further. As of now, the UG medical entrance test is presumably scheduled for the third week of June 2022.
NEET UG 2022 Form Expected in April 2022
When the announcement about JEE Main 2022 came out, officials from the Education Ministry had specified that NEET 2022 is likely to be held in June 2022. This tentative schedule did not come as a surprise as the medical exam has always been conducted a month after the Engineering test.
With June 2022 as the exam month, several news reports including the one published by India.Com have claimed the application form to release in March 2022. Several others such as Times Now have stated that the form will be out on April 01, 2022, giving candidates a month to register.
NEET 2022 Postponed to September Again?
Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NEET UG examination was held on September 12, witnessing a delay of almost 5 months from the usual schedule. Since then, however, the pandemic has subsided, relieving candidates of the fear of yet another, postponement.
It is, however, clear that NEET UG 2022 will not be held in May 2022. The reason being that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 is scheduled in the months of April and May. Hence, scheduling the medical entrance exam in May 2022 would not be feasible owing to a clash of dates. So, the exam is likely to be held during the June-July 2022 period, preferable in the third week of June 2022.
NEET 2022 to be Held Only Once
Since last year, students have been demanding for two NEET 2022 attempts. However, due to the pandemic, it was impractical to conduct the exam twice. This year, however, many were pushing for two attempts but, to no avail. NTA officials have confirmed that the national-level entrance exam will be held only once, through the pen-and-paper format. It is also doubtful whether or not internal choices in each subject section will be provided. This question will be answered once the official information brochure is released.
