The West Bengal Class 12th Board exam are now cancelled. Yesterday, the CMO of Bengal Mamta Banerjee has announced that this year, there will be no examination for Class 10th (Madhyamik) and Class 12th (Uchhamadhyamik) due to COVID-19. Candidates will be declared qualified based on the evaluation criteria decided by the experts’ committee.
A tweet on June 07, 2021, was shared on Twitter stating that West Bengal Class 12 Exam 2021 are cancelled. With that, Class 10th students are also exempted from appearing for the Boards exam. West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and the Government of Bengal have simultaneously decided to cancel the exam this year. With the rise in COVID-19 cases regularly, the Board has now come up with the decision to keep student’s health on priority and cancel the exam. As of now, the Council has not announced the result declaration criteria. It is not confirmed whether the Council will come up with separate criteria or will follow CBSE Objective Criteria. After the consultation with experts, the Council will release the WBCHSE Class 12 Result 2021 Criteria. As per the reports, the evaluation criteria will be announced within 07 days. Students are advised to wait for an official announcement in this regard. They can regularly visit the official website, wbchse.nic.in to get any update on the Board result declaration.
The West Bengal Class 12 exam was earlier scheduled to commence from June 15, 2021. The State Boards exam was expected to take place for 10 days ending on July 02, 2021. However, the complete schedule got postponed due to the second wave of coronavirus that hit West Bengal. Students, Parents and Experts demanded the cancellation of Boards examination. Albeit, CM earlier announced that the Class 12th exam will be organized late in July 2021 whereas the Class 10th exam will in mid-August. In the end, CM has finally cancelled the Class 12 (Uchho Madhyamik) and class 10th (Madhyamik) examination.
Before West Bengal Board, many state boards have decided to cancel the Boards exam for Class 12. As of now, Haryana State Board, Gujarat board, Madhya Pradesh Board, Goa Board, Odisha board, and others have cancelled the Class 12th exam. Karnataka board has also cancelled the 2nd PUC exam, however, the SSLC exam will take place.
Prior to these state-level cancellations, CBSE and Govt of India have also cancelled CBSE Class 12 Board Exam. PMO has tweeted the information on his official Twitter account that the Class 12th exam is cancelled. Students are now relieved after the announcement and are further preparing for the result declaration.
