WBJEE 2021 Exam Date Postponed to 17 July; Admit Card To Release on 12 July

WBJEE 2021 has been postponed by 6 days. The exam will be held in offline mode and admit cards for it will release on July 12, 2021

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has officially postponed WBJEE 2021 exam, by 6 days. The new exam date for WBJEE is July 17, whereas, earlier it was due to be held on July 11, 2021. Owing to this, the issuance of admit card has also been pushed back to July 12, instead of July 06, 2021. Apart from this, there is no other change in the exam pattern or mode.

The announcement for deferring WBJEE 2021 has been made via an official notice, which has been made public on wbjeeb.nic.in. The notice indicates that the date for the exam has been postponed due to COVID-19 second wave. The notice says, ‘In view of the COVID-19 second wave pandemic situation and continued restrictions, the date of WBJEE-2021 has been rescheduled keeping in mind the health and academic interest of the aspiring candidates. The examination will be held on July 17, 2021, (Saturday).’

The application process for WBJEE 2021 is already over. Now the registered candidates will be able to download admit card at wbjeeb.nic.in. To do so, candidates will have to access the login, by enetring application number and password. Through the admit card, the exam center for the exam will be allotted to the candidates. Apart from this, exam time and important instructions will also be disclosed via it.

On the day of the exam, candidates have to carry a printed copy of the WBJEE 2021 admit card. Along with the admit card, carry a valid id proof, a passport size photograph, and black / blue ballpoint pen. Since the exam is being held in the mid of a pandemic, candidates may also carry a transparent bottle of sanitizer, mask, and a pair of gloves.

WBJEEB will hold WBJEE 2021 in offline mode. In the exam, questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

WBJEE 2021 will have 2 papers – Paper 1: Mathematics and Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry (Combined). The duration of each paper will be 2 hours. The test comprises multiple-choice questions. Each subject has 3 categories of questions. In Maths, the candidates will be asked a total of 75 questions of 100 marks. In Physics and Chemistry candidates have to answer 40 questions of 50 marks in each section.

In the category 1 questions, only one option is correct. 01 mark is awarded for each correct answer and 1/4 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer. For any combination of responses with more than one option, that answer will be treated as incorrect and 1/4 marks will be deducted and 0 marks for un-attempted questions.

In the category 2 questions, only one option is correct. 2 marks are awarded for each correct answer, and 1/2 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer. For any combination of responses with more than one option, that answer will be treated as incorrect and 1/2 marks will be deducted and 0 marks for un-attempted questions.

On the other hand, in the category 3 type, the questions will have more than 1 correct answer. 02 marks are awarded for each correct answer. In these types of questions, there is no negative markings.

Based on performance in WBJEE, candidates will be called for counselling for admission to engineering, pharmacy colleges of West Bengal. WBJEE is the state-level exam for admission to B.E, B.Tech, B.Pharm programs.
