The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has announced exam dates for WBJEE 2021. The board will hold WB Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) 2021 on July 11, 2021. The exam date has been officially announced on the website, wbjeeb.nic.in.
Seems like the board was waiting for CBSE to declare the date sheet. Now that the CBSE date sheet and also the West Bengal Board Higher Secondary exam dates are out, WBJEEB has announced WBJEE 2021 exam dates for admission in undergraduate courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in the State.

On one hand, WB class 12 board exam will end on June 30, 2021, on the other, the CBSE class 12 exams will end on June 11, 2021. Exactly after one month, the WBJEE 2021 exam has been scheduled. This timeline will thus allow the WB class 12 board candidates as well as the CBSE board candidates appearing for WBJEE 2021, one entire month for preparation and revision.
Last year, when WBJEE was held in the month of February, the application forms to apply for the exam were released in the month of October, 4 months before the exam. Now that the exam is being held in July, it can be expected that the online forms can be released in March 2021, 4 months prior, like last year.
Candidates who have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects can apply for this state-level entrance exam for admission in engineering courses. For admission in Pharmacy courses, the subjects compulsory in 10+2 are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology.
The syllabus of the exam is based on the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Also, the difficulty level is of 10+2 standard.
Until last year, WBJEE has been held in offline mode with questions on physics, chemistry, mathematics. In the exam, candidates were required to appear for 2 papers, Paper-1 Mathematics, and Paper-2 Combined physics and chemistry. There were 155 MCQs types of questions in the exam.
On the basis of performance in WBJEE, candidates are then called for counselling for admission to engineering, architecture, pharmacy colleges of West Bengal. Last year, more than 1.27 lakh applicants registered for WBJEE for admission to courses offered by 116 participating institutes.
