After CBSE and other state board have announced cancellation of their class 10th board exams 2021, now West Bengal students are waiting for the decision regarding Madhyamik examination. One unofficial source earlier reported that West Bengal Madhyamik 2021 exams have been cancelled amid rising COVID-19 cases in the state and the students are promoted to the next standard without holding the exams. However, West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) or neither the state government has made any announcement regarding the same.
Answering to the students concern, various teachers in the West Bengal state has clarified to then that there is no official announcement made by the board authorities, hence, students should not believe in any rumors.
WBBSE Madhyamik exams 2021 are scheduled to be held from June 1 with First language paper and will end on 10 June 2021 with Optional Elective Subjects paper. Students can download the Madhyamik (Class 10th) exam routine online from the board’s official website, wbbse.wb.gov.in.
Earlier, Ministry of Education announced that all the offline examinations conducted by the Higher Education Institutes to be held in the month of May are hereby postponed. The pandemic situation will be reviewed in the first week of June after which the revised dates will be announced for the postponed board exams. Since, West Bengal class 10th exams are going to be held in June, hence, it is highly unlikely for the exams to be cancelled. However, this will also depend on COVID-19 situation in the state which shall be in the month of June.
Besides West Bengal state, there are 5 other states which are conducting the class 10th exams as per the schedule. These include, Karnataka, Kerala, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland. Meanwhile, most other state board have cancelled the class 10th examinations amid rising COVID19 spike in the country. The result for these students is being prepared based on the internal assessment.
In conclusion, it is advised to the students to not believe any false allegation made by any unofficial source, until the state government or the board authorities officially announces any update for the Madhyamik exam 2021.
