The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Staff Selection Committee (UPSSSC) has started the registration process for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2021. The registration is open at upsssc.gov.in and the last date to apply is June 21, 2021. UPSSSC is conducting PET 2021 to recruit eligible candidates for Group ‘C’ posts. The exam date will be announced in due course of time.
The recruitment is only open for those individuals who have passed their class 10 from a recognized board. Apart from this, the minimum age criterion is 18 year and the maximum is 40 years, as on July 01, 2021.
Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply at upsssc.gov.in. To do so, candidates need to visit the website and click on “Under Advt. No: 01-Exam/2021 start from 25/05/2021”. It is available under the ‘live advertisement’ section. Following this, a new page with these three options opens – User Instruction, View Advertisement and Apply. Now, the candidates need to click on the “Apply” button, however, before doing so candidates should go through the User Instruction before applying.
The application fee for UPSSSC PET is Rs. 160. However, for SC / ST candidates it is Rs. 70. Candidates belonging to PwD category are exempted from fee payment. An additional online processing fee of Rs. 25 is charged while making the payment.
The candidates will only be allowed to make changes in their application form once. The last date to do so is June 28, 2021. Apart from Registered Mobile Number, Email, and Category, all the details can be edited.
UPSSSC PET 2021 exams will be held in offline mode. The syllabus of the exam is of high school level. The questions are asked from General Knowledge, Science, General Hindi & Unseen Passage, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, and Figures & Graph. Few important things to note about the exam pattern of PET 2021 are as follows:
# There will be 100 questions in the exam. Each question will be of 1 mark. There is a 0.25 mark deduction for each wrong answer.
# 5 questions will be asked from Indian History, Indian National Movement, Geography, Indian Economy, Indian Constitution & Public Administration, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi. General English, and Logical Reasoning.
# Ten questions each will be asked from Current Affairs, General Awareness, Unread Passages, Graph Interpretation, and Total Interpretation Analysis.
# Candidates will be given a time period of 120 minutes to attempt the question paper.
After the exam, result of UPSSSC PET 2021 will be announced on the website. On the basis of performance in the preliminary exam, merit wise shortlisting will be done for the main exam. The final select will be done on the basis of the performance in the main exam.
The candidates will be recruited under the grade pay of more than Rs. 1900 (Pay band Rs. 5200- 20200) and less than Rs. 4600 (Pay Band- Rs. 9300- 34800).
