On December 20, 2018, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the Indian Administrative Services(IAS) Main Result over its official website i.e upsc.gov.in. IAS Main exam was held on September 28, 29, 30 & October 06, 07, 2018, for which a candidate will be able to check the result in a pdf file, uploaded over the website. Selected candidates will be then asked to appear for UPSC IAS Interview round, which is also known as the IAS Personality Test or Final Round.
Bharatiya Prashanik Seva, popularly known as IAS exam has 3 selection rounds to it, namely Prelims, Main and Final. Stage 1 IAS Prelims round was conducted on June 3, 2018, and for which the result was announced a month later i.e on July 14, 2018. 8 lakhs of candidates had applied, whereas more than 10,000 students had qualified for this round.
Candidates who had appeared for the IAS Main round, can check whether their names appear in PDF file. There is 2 IAS Main Result pdf which has been released – one, with the exam roll number of the selected candidates and the other one, with the names of the selected candidates. Open any one of these PDF files and press Ctrl + F, type exam roll number/name to check, whether a candidate has met the minimum cut off marks.
UPSC sets different cut off marks for different category candidates. Selected candidates will be then invited to appear for the final round of Personality Test (Interview) and will be sent e-call letters. A total of 782 IAS vacancies need to be filled, of which 32 vacancies reserved for P.H. category candidates. UPSC conducts this civil services exam to recruit eligible yet suitable candidates who would readily serve the nation in one of its 3 branches – Civil Services, Indian Police Sevices, Indian Administrative Services, and Indian Forest services.
