Union Public Service Commission has released the official notification of the Engineering Services Exam (ESE) 2022 today. The notification has been released online on the website upsc.gov.in and the Prelims exam will be held on February 20, 2022. However, the last date to register and apply online for the exam is October 12, 2021, till 06.00 PM. Besides, the Commission will also allow registered candidates to withdraw applications from October 20 to 26, 2021.
As per the official notification, the upcoming UPSC recruitment event will be conducted in three stages of selection i.e., the Preliminary exam, Main exam and Final Personality Test. UPSC will fill up a total of 247 vacancies through the ESE 2022 recruitment. Candidates have to qualify through the Prelims exam at first to appear in the Main exam. As per the latest selection process, candidates twice the number of vacancies will be summoned to appear in the final personality test.
Eligibility for UPSC ESE 2022
Aspiring candidates have to ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criterion as laid down by the Union Public Service Commission for the ESE 2022 exam. The eligibility conditions are as follows.
- Candidates must be within the age of 21 to 30 years as on January 01, 2022.
- Relaxations are available on the upper age limit as per Government norms in vogue.
- Applicants must have a degree in Engineering or other equivalent qualification as identified by the UPSC in the ESE 2022 notification.
- Candidates must be an Indian national, or fulfil other equivalent nationality conditions as specified by the Commission.
UPSC ESE 2022 Application Form
Online applications for the UPSC ESE 2022 is open now and aspiring candidates have to apply online on the official website i.e., upsconline.nic.in as per the specified schedule. UPSC ESE 2022 Exam Pattern
The complete scheme and pattern of the ESE 2022 exam have been indicated by the Commission in the official notification. The selection will be done first through the Prelims exam and then through the Main exam.
ESE 2022 Prelims will be held as per schedule for two question papers carrying 200 and 300 marks respectively. The questions will be of the MCQ format based on the subjects of General Studies & Engineering Aptitude (Paper I) and relevant branch of engineering (Paper-II). Paper-I will be of 02 hours duration and Paper-II will be of 03 hours duration. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for each incorrect answer in the Prelims exam.
The Main exam will also comprise two papers and both are based on the relevant trade of engineering. Each paper will carry a total of 300 marks and candidates will be allowed a duration of 03 hours to complete the test for each paper. The final personality test will carry a total of 200 marks.
