Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has today, October 01, 2021, announced the results for Combined Defence Services (CDS) II Result 2020. As per official reports, a total of 192 candidates have been shortlisted for the Officer Training Academy (OTA). Candidates who have appeared for the second stage can check their results on the official website upsc.gov.in. The written exam was held in selected centres across the country in November 2020. This recruitment drive aims to cover a total of 169 vacancies for 114th Short Service Commission (SSC) course for men and 17 vacancies for the 28th SSC Women (Non-Technical) course.
As of now, candidates can only check whether they have been shortlisted or not. Exact marks obtained in the UPSC CDS 2 2020 examination will be updated within the next 15 days i.e., by October 16, 2021. To check their shortlisting status, the steps to check the results are as follows –
Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC CDS 2 2020 examination i.e., upsc.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage of the official website, access the “What’s New” section. Click on the link attached to the words “Final Result: Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2020 (OTA)”.
Step 3: A new page will open containing the document specifying the names shortlisted for OTA.
Step 4: Access Page 2 and search the rank, roll number and name of the candidate.
141 male candidates have been shortlisted for the 114th SSC course while a total of 51 female aspirants have been inducted into the academy for the 28th SSC course at the academy.
Candidates must keep in mind that the UPSC CDS II 2020 merit list has been curated without considering the marks obtained in the medical examination. However, this selection is only provisional and will be subjected to other formalities before the final selection process. These formalities include verification of date of birth, education qualification, etc. This verification process will be conducted in due course of time by the Army Head Quarter.
The merit list uploaded by UPSC authorities also mentions candidates who have been recommended before on the basis of merit. Those who have not been shortlisted in the UPSC CDS 2 2020 examination can exercise other alternatives. These have been specified in a separate document uploaded on the official website upsc.gov.in.
The CDS 2 2020 Examination was conducted for inducting eligible candidates into the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala and the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad. All these courses are pre-flying training courses.
