Recently, one of the news reports claimed that the authoritative body of UPCATET has introduced 4 new courses for the 2019-20 academic session. Candidates will now be offered 3 new courses in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (2 of which are diploma courses) and 1 B.Sc. Home Science course in Banda University of Agriculture And Technology. This change is expected to result in the rise of the Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) 2019 seats, as well.
This year, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut, is expected to be the exam conducting body for this state level agricultural and science courses entrance test. The application process for UPCATET 2019 is also expected to commence on February 20, 2019, whereas the exam is said to be conducted on May 16, 17 & 18, 2019 in offline mode across 7 cities. The result declaration date of UPCATET 2019 is scheduled on the May 31, 2019. Though, no such information has yet been provided over the official website, http://www.upcatet.org.
Admissions are provided in Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology (CSAUK), Kanpur, Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (NDUAT), Kumarganj, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVBP), Meerut and Banda University of Agriculture And Technology (BUAT). The 2 diploma courses introduced, having 50 seats each are for – Livestock extension and Veterinary Pharmacy and 44 seats have been allotted for B.Tech Food Technology course.
Addition of these new courses has seen a significant rise in the total number of seats. While CSAUK offers 482 undergraduate and 130 postgraduate seats, NDUAT offers 397 undergraduate and 72 postgraduate seats, SVBP offers 504 undergraduate and BUAT offers 240 seats.
Other than undergraduate and postgraduate courses, these UPCATET 2019 member universities also offers various Ph.D programmes. CSAUK offers 44 Ph.D seats, NDUAT and SVBP offers 65 and 60 seats, respectively. Additionally, some other courses are offered in Horticulture and Agro forestry which has 8 seats in CSAUK and 2 seats in NDUAT, respectively.
Once the result is declared on May 31, 2019, the registration for online counselling process for UG & Diploma courses is said to commence June 3, 2019 and ends on June 10, 2019. Whereas for PG courses, the registration commences from June 16, 2019 and ends on July 15, 2019. Candidates must secure 20% of marks (for Gen and OBC candidates) and 10% of marks (for SC/ST candidates) to qualify for the exam. Further for UG programmes, the first round of counselling will start from June 21, 2019 and go on till July 08, 2019. After the first round of counselling, the second round shall be held from July 11 – 20, 2019.
