Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) has asked the schools to upload the pre-boards and half-yearly exam marks of the students in class 12. The same order has been given for the class 11 students. The marks must be uploaded by May 28, 2021. The pre-board examination was conducted in February in Uttar Pradesh Board schools. The schools have been asked to upload the marks of the students online at upmsp.edu.in.
The speculation based on this news is, whether the UP board is planning to cancel the board exams and looking forward to passing the students without exams.
However, on the other hand, Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma of the state has announced today, that Uttar Pradesh class 12 board exams will be held and the decision for the same will be taken by end of this month, that May 2021, after analysing the pandemic situation. The government believes that they can easily hold the class 10 and 12 boards in the state amidst the pandemic with all the SOPs in place. The state is confident as it has already conducted panchayat polls and other programs following COVID protocols.

Additionally, the Deputy CM has also notified that the preparation to hold the exams are going on. The paper has been printed, sets of decoded copies have been made, and 8,513 centers have been also allocated to follow social distancing during examinations.

With 2 contradicting updates coming from the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) and the state government the question arises will the class 10 and 12 board exams be cancelled? The final decision of the boards, as per the Government will be announced by the end of this month.
Hence the students are advised to not reach any conclusion based on the available updates. Until any official and clear circular is released by the UP board, about the class 10 and 12 exams, preparation for the exams must go on. High chances are that the exams will be held as the government has allocated centers and has printed the papers too.
Like most state boards, Uttar Pradesh Board has also postponed the class 10th and 12th board exams 2021 due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country. UP Board in April decided to postpone the classes 10, 12 board exams. The class 10 exams were scheduled to be held from May 8 to 25 and the class 12 exams were to be held from May 8 to 28, 2021.
This year, a total of 26,09,501 applications have been submitted by Class 10 students for the High school examination. For the Intermediate exam, around 29,94,312 applications have been received. Out of which a total number of 3,20,290 female students and 16,74,022 male students have applied for the exam.
