TS Postal Circle recruitment 2019 starts for 970 GDS vacancies; Class 10th pass can apply

A maximum of 20 posts can be applied for in one cycle. This is the cycle 2 of India Post recruitment 2019.

TS Postal Circle recruitment 2019

In Telangana Postal Circle, there are a total of 970 vacancies of Gramin Dak Sevak. It is one of the three circles for which India Post is currently accepting online application forms for GDS recruitment; the other two being Andhra Pradesh with 2,707 vacancies and Chhattisgarh with 1,799 vacancies. 

The position is open for class 10th pass candidates, and selection will be on the basis of marks in the same. There will not be any extra weightage for higher qualifications. 

India Post does recruitment in cycles. In each cycle, a candidate can apply for 20 posts maximum. This is the second cycle. The application fee for five posts is to the tune of Rs 100 for general and OBC male candidates only.

There are two things to do in order to apply for the recruitment. One is registration, and other is filling the application form. Registration started on October 15, 2019, and will end on November 14, 2019. The application form filling started on October 22, 2019, and will end on November 21, 2019.

Applications for the recruitment have been made available at appost.in. Notifications of cycle 2, this being the second cycle of engagement in India Post, are available under the notifications section. And application form link is under the steps to apply part. 

In the application form, one has to enter a few basic details to get the registration number. This includes name (in capital letter as per x class certificate marks memo including spaces), father name, mobile number (unique for one registration number), date of birth, gender, community, ph – type of disability – (hh/oh/vh)- percentage of disability, state in which xth class passed, board in which xth class passed, year of passing xth class, xth class certificate number / roll number (optional).

The application also requires uploading of documents including class 10 certificate or marks memo, DOB proof, memo 1 for candidate not qualified in single attempt, additional class 10 marks memo 2 for candidates not qualified in single attempt having more than two marks memo, computer certificate, community certificate, photo, signature, disability certificate.

As a gramin dak sevak, one is responsible for delivering mails, selling stamps and stationery, and any other task given by the postmaster or sub postmaster. A GDS should have adequate means of livelihood to support himself or herself as well as family from other sources to supplement this income. This condition needs to be fulfilled within 30 days of selection, but before engagement.

TS Postal circle or India Post will send sms to those candidates who get selected provisionally. After which, such candidates have to attend document verification. Although the notification states that candidates will also get a physical communication regarding provisional selection intimation, at the same time it says that the department will not be responsible for non receipt of email or sms.
