TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2019: Know These 14 Important Things

Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) is conducting recruitment for Sub-Inspector of Police. Defence job aspirants can apply now for SI Recruitment in Police Taluk, Armed Reserve and Tamil Nadu Special Police. Here are 14 very important things to know about TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2019.

Vacancies. There are 969 vacancies in two types of services: Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service, Tamil Nadu Special Police Subordinate Service. In the former, there is hiring for Sub-Inspector of Police (TK) and Sub-Inspector of Police (AR). In the latter, there is hiring for Sub-Inspector of Police (TSP). Vacancies are Sub-Inspector of Police (TK): 660; Sub-Inspector of Police (AR): 276; Sub-Inspector of Police (TSP): 33. 30% of vacancies in TK and AR are reserved for women / transgender. So overall there are 688 vacancies for general / men, and 281 for women / transgender.

Scale of pay. Sub Inspector of Police will get a pay scale of 36900 – 116600.

Minimum educational qualification. Candidate should be at least a graduate.

Knowledge of Tamil language. It is necessary to have studied Tamil language in 10 / 12 / degree. Otherwise, candidates need to pass Tamil Part II test held by TNPSC within 2 years of joining service.

Age limit. Candidate should be between 20 to 28 years old as on July 1, 2019. Upper age limit is relaxed to following age for categories: BC / BC (Muslim), MBC / DC – 30 years, SC / ST (Arunthathiyar) / ST – 33 years, Destitute Widow – 35 years, ExS – 45 years, Departmental candidates for departmental quota – 45 years.

Application Form and Fee. The fee to apply is Rs 500. Candidates can apply online only at tnusrbonline.org. Last date to apply is April 19, 2019.

Selection Process. There will be different processes for open candidates and departmental quota candidates. For open candidates, there will be these: Written Examination of 70 marks, Physical Efficiency Test of 15 marks, Viva Voce of 10 marks, Special marks of 5 marks. Departmental quota candidates will go through these: Written Examination of 85 marks, Viva Voce of 10 marks, Special marks of 5 marks.

Exam Pattern. TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2019 exam pattern consists of Part A with 80 questions of 40 marks, and Part B with 60 questions of 30 marks. Each question is of 0.5 marks.

Syllabus. Part A of the exam is on General Knowledge. Then Part B is on Logical Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Psychology Test, Communication Skills, Information Handling Ability.

Cut Off. It is necessary to score at least 25 marks in order to qualify the exam. However, the number of candidates who will qualify the exam will be equal to 5 times the number of vacancies, that is 4845.

Physical Measurement Test. There will be height and chest measurement. Height, for OC, BC, BC(M) MBC/DNC should be 170 cms for men and 159 cms for women. For SC, SC (A), ST it should be 167 cms for men and 157 cms for women. Chest measurement will only be for men. It should be 81 cms normal, 5 cms expansion in full inspiration.

Physical Endurance Test. Men will have to run 1500 metres in 7 minutes. Women will run 400 metres in 2.5 minutes. ExS will run 1500 metres in 8 minutes.

Physical Efficiency Test for men. Men will do rope climbing: 2 marks for 5 metres and 5 marks for 6 metres; long jump or high jump: 3.8 metres long jump fetches 2 marks and 4.5 metres gets 5 marks whereas 1.2 metres high jump gets 2 marks and 1.4 metres get 5 marks; 100 m run or 400 m run: 100m run in 15 s fetches 2 marks and in 13.5 s gets 5 marks whereas 400 m run in 80 s gets 2 marks and in 70 s get 5 marks.

Physical Efficiency Test for women. Women will do long jump: 2 marks for 3 metres and 5 marks for 3.75 metres; shotput or cricket ball throw: 4.25 metres shotput fetches 2 marks and 5.5 metres gets 5 marks whereas 17 metres cricket ball throw gets 2 marks and 24 metres get 5 marks; 100 m run or 200 m run: 100m run in 17.5 s fetches 2 marks and in 15.5 s gets 5 marks whereas 200 m run in 38 s gets 2 marks and in 33 s get 5 marks.
