TNTET 2022: Last Date to Apply Online Extended to 26 April

TNTET 2022 last date extended in light of multiple requests by candidates appearing for the eligibility test.

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) Tamil Nadu has extended the last date to apply online for the Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test 2022 to April 26, while it was originally set as April 13, 2022. The last date has been extended in light of the receipt of requests the conducting body received from applicants. The requests were also raised due to alleged reports of technical failures on the application portal. The application form can be found on the official website – trb.tn.nic.in.

Steps to apply online for TNTET 2022

Step 1: Go to the application website – trb.tn.nic.in

Step 2: Click on “Online Application Form”

Step 3: You will be redirected to the login page.

Step 4: Click on “New User Login”.

Step 5: Enter the required details and pay the application fee.

Eligibility criteria

For PAPER 1 (Grades 1-5)

  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

For PAPER 2 (Grades 6-8)

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).

TNTET Minimum Qualifying Marks

  1. Candidates will be required to write the Paper according to the grades they wish to teach, and have to score a minimum of 60% for the general category and 55% for reserved categories to be eligible for obtaining the TNTET certificate. The certificate will be valid for lifetime.
  2. Procurement of the certificate will not guarantee recruitment, since candidates will further have to apply to the concerned government schools to receive their teaching posts.
