TNEA 2019 Random Number

Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) will be assigning the TNEA 2019 Random Number to the registered candidates today at 3:00 PM. The candidates have to check their random number at tneaonline.in. It is a 10 digit randomly generated number for all the registered candidates that is important for tie-breaking at the time of TNEA 2019 merit list preparation.

To check the TNEA 2019 Random Number the candidates have to log in at the official website using their TNEA User Id and Date of Birth. The random number allotted is available under their login, the candidates must note it down correctly.

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) is held every year and is a counselling process. The counselling process includes registering online, generation of the random numbers, generation of the e-call letters, document verification at the TNEA Facilitation Centre (TFCs), checking the rank list and participating in the counselling choice filling system.

Here are 5 important things to note about the TNEA 2019 and the random numbers:

#1 What is the importance of the TNEA 2019 random numbers? The random numbers play a deciding role when there is a tie between 2 or more candidates in the rank list preparation. The candidates whose random number value is more is given preference in the merit lits over their counterparts.

#2 What to do with the random numbers? The candidates are not su[posed to anything with the random numbers allotted to them. They just have to note it down safely. In the TNEA 2019 merit list, they can check the random number and their position and know the fairness of the tie breaking.

#3 What after the random number generation? This year, the TNEA 2019 Random number will be assigned to 1.33 Lakh candidates who have applied for the admission. After the random numbers are generated they will be soon assigned the e-call letters which will have the time, date, and address of the TFC where the candidates have to visit for the document verification. The candidates have to download their e-call letter from the login at their official website.

#4 What are the TFCs? TNEA Facilitation Centre (TFCs) are the designated centers for the candidates who have the e-call letter to visit and get their documents verified for the TNEA 2019 counselling rounds.

#5 How will be the TNEA 2019 merit list prepared? After the document verification is done, the shortlisted candidates will be included in the TNEA 2019 Merit List. Now the merit list is prepared based on the candidates’ marks in 10+2. The marks will be reduced to 200, that is Maths – 100 marks, Physics – 50 marks and Chemistry – 50 marks for the preparation of the TNEA 2019 Merit List.

If there is a tie in this process, here the TNEA 2019 random number will be used to break the tie.

TNEA is a counselling process for admission of eligible students in B.E. and B.Tech courses offered by the institutes in the state of Tamil Nadu. Until 2018, TNEA was conducted by Anna University, but from 2019, the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has taken charge of the process.
