The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) that comprises 14 constituent and 268 affiliated colleges, is all set to start the undergraduate admission process for the year 2021-22. Online registrations shall start for TNAU UG Admission 2021-22 from September 08, 2021. Eligible candidates can apply through tnauonline.in or tnau.ac.in. From this year onwards, the Agricultural College and Research Institute and the Horticulture College and Research Institute, both based in Coimbatore, will offer programs in Tamil.
The University has also added a list of colleges as constituent colleges of TNAU as announced by the government of Tamil Nadu. Under this are the Horticulture College at Jeenur and newly commenced three agricultural colleges in Karur, Keezhvelur and Chettinad.
They offer various programs in Agricultural Science and Technology. These include B.Sc Hons programs in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Sericulture, Food, Nutrition and Dietetics and Agriculture Business Management. The university also offers B.tech programs in Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology, Biotechnology and Energy and Environmental Engineering.
To be eligible for the available courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 from the recognized board. Admission will be provided to only those candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu state. However, those who have studies Class 10th, 11th and 12th in the state are also eligible. Such candidates have to produce proof of having studied in class 10th, 11th and 12th in Tamil Nadu.
Only online applications are entertained by the university. Interested candidates may apply for the same at tnauonline.in or visit the TNAU website tnau.ac.in. Online application is a two-step process. After registering as a user on the TNAU website, a login ID and password are provided that have to be used through the entire admission process. Candidates should keep a digital copy of their 10th and 12th mark sheet along with transfer certificate (TC) and community/nativity certificate as applicable.
The application fee for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates is Rs 300 while that for general, Other Backward Castes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) are Rs 600.
Candidates should also note that the university gives limited attempts at clearing the qualifying exam for admission to these courses. Candidates from the Scheduled Castes and Tribes have a maximum of three attempts and the rest have a maximum of two attempts to get admitted to TNAU.
