Surat Municipal Corporation is inviting applications from eligible candidates to fill up 577 vacancies in the Scheimer Medical College and Hospital. The vacancies are for different contractual posts in the aforementioned healthcare institution run by the Surat Municipal Corporation in Gujarat. A detailed employment notice in this context is released on the official website of the Corporation. Interested individuals can download the advertisement from the website suratmunicipal.gov.in. Applications in the prescribed proforma can be forwarded to the Corporation by the last date. The last date of receipt of applications is July 20, 2020.
As per the official employment notice, a total of 577 vacancies are advertised for various medical, paramedical, and other posts. All of these vacancies are in the Scheimer Medical College and Hospital under the governance of the SMC. There are 03 vacancies available for the post of Specialist in the disciplines of Pulmonologist and Physician. In addition, there are 28 vacancies for the post of Senior Resident (Clinical). These vacancies are further bifurcated into the disciplines of General Medicine (07), Pediatrics (04), TB & Chest (03), Orthopedics (01), Obstetrics & Gynecology (04) and Anesthesia (08). Multiple vacancies are also advertised for the posts of Medical Officer. For the post of Medical Officer (MBBS), there are 88 vacancies available. On the other hand, there are 50 vacancies available for the post of Medical Officer (Ayush). At 291 openings, the highest number of vacancies are available for the post of Nurse (BPNA). In addition, there are 40 vacancies for the post of Ward Boy and 77 vacancies for the post of Aaya.
The appointments are to be made for a period of 11 months on a contractual basis. Upon final selection and appointment, candidates are entitled to receive fixed monthly payments. Specialist post holders are entitled to receive a monthly payment of Rs 1,20,000. Those who are appointed at the post of Senior Resident are entitled to a monthly payment of Rs 88,000. Medical Officer (MBBS) is entitled to receive a monthly payment of Rs 80,000. Medical Officer (Ayush) post holders are entitled to receive a monthly salary of Rs 25000. BPNA Nurses are entitled to receive a monthly salary of Rs 20,000. Ward boys and Aayas are entitled to withdraw a fixed monthly payment of Rs 10,000.
The complete post-wise requirement of minimum educational qualifications is mentioned in the notification. In order to apply for the post of Specialist (Pulmonologist/Physician), candidates need to have MD/MS or DNB qualification. Those who are willing to apply for the post of Senior Resident should have a DNB qualification. For the post of Medical Officer, candidates need to have an MBBS degree. On the other hand, in order to apply for the post of Medical Officer (Ayush) candidates need to have BAMS, BUMS, or BHMS degree. Candidates aspiring to apply for the post of Nurse (BPNA) must have a BPNA qualification or GNM/B.Sc. Nursing and registered with Nursing Council. Class 10th pass candidates are eligible to apply for the posts of Ward Boys and Aaya. For both these posts, preference is given to candidates with experience of working in a Hospital or Laboratory setting.
