The Staff Selection Commission has issued an official notification to advertise 1564 vacancies in the post of Sub Inspector. The vacant positions are distributed across Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). SSC is to conduct a Computer Based Examination for the selection of eligible candidates once the application process is over. Eligible candidates can download the detailed advertisement from the official SSC website i.e. ssc.nic.in and know about the application process. The entire process of application is conducted online between June 17 to July 16, 2020. Candidates can make the payment of the fees till July 18, 2020, while the last date to generate an offline Challan is July 20, 2020, which can be used to make offline payment till July 22, 2020. SSC has scheduled the Computer Based Test for the Paper-I on and from September 29 to October 05, 2020. The exam for Paper-II is to be held on March 01, 2021.
In order to apply for the vacant positions, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. In addition, one must also be within the age range of 20 to 25 years in order to apply. Having said this, there are relaxations in the upper age limit allowed to candidates belonging to special reserved categories. The vacancies are distributed across Male(91) and Female(78) cadre of posts in Delhi Police and across the CRPF (1072), BSF(244), ITBP(43), CISF(20) and SSB(16) forces of the CAPF.
Eligible candidates can apply online at the official website of the Staff Selection Commission only. At first, an One Time Registration needs to be completed on the SSC website using a functional email id and a mobile number. Duting the OTR process, candidates must also upload recent passport sized photo in the JPEG format. Candidates can fill up the application form only after completing the OTR process. An application fee of Rs 100 must be deposited to complete the application process. However, women candidates, SC/ST and ESM candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee. Candidates can pay the fee either online through Bhim UPI, Internet Banking, Credit/Debit Cards or by cash at an SBI branch.
Once the application process is over, eligible candidates are issued admission certificates through the official website of the SSC only. Candidates are allocated an exam center based on their preference in the application form in order of priority. The selection is done on the basis of Computer Based Tests of Paper I & II. However, after clearing the exam for Paper-I, candidates must also pass the Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test to become eligible for the exam of Paper-II. The detailed exam pattern and complete syllabus are indicated in the official advertisement. Candidates who qualify for the document verification stage must produce all original documents and indicate their preference of posts in order of preference. Once appointed to a post according to preference, a candidate is not further considered for other posts. Candidates are appointed at the pay scale of Level 6 for those who qualify for the CAPF and Delhi Police vacancies.
