The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that they will declare the results of SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Paper-II 2020 on February 28, 2022. They will publish separate lists for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts. Those who are declared as qualified in the merit lists shall be eligible to appear in the document verification process.
The Staff Service Commission (SSC) had released a status report of results, announcing the result dates of several exams. According to the notification, the SSC JE (Junior Engineer) exam Paper 2 result is to be released on February 28, 2022. Paper 1 exam was conducted from March 22 to 24, 2021 and the results were declared on June 30, 2021. Shortlisted candidates had attempted the Paper 2 exam on September 26, 2021.

The exam is conducted to recruit candidates into the post of Junior Engineers in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical engineering. There are a total of 1595 vacancies to be filled through this exam.

About SSC JE Paper 2 Result
Candidates who secure the minimum cut-off marks in Paper 1 and Paper 2, will be summoned for document verification. Candidates who have applied for JE in Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have to mandatorily undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and medical examination. In case, multiple candidates secure same aggregate marks (Paper 1 + Paper 2) in the exam, SSC will follow a tie-breaking criteria, in the order given below:
- Total marks in Paper-II examination.
- Date of birth, older candidates will be placed higher.
- Alphabetical order of the candidates’ names.
The merit list will be prepared category-wise. It is prepared based on the aggregate marks in Paper 1 and 2; and reservation policies. Also, candidates will have to undergo PET and medical exam based on the area they have been appointed to. The PET usually involves a ‘One mile run’ in 10 minutes. There are region-wise fitness standards of personnel which will be strictly followed at the time of recruitment.

SSC JE Exam Pattern
The SSC JE exam is conducted in 2 papers. Paper 1 consists of 200 questions, each carrying 1 mark. Paper 1 covers questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering. There is a negative marking of 0.25. Paper 2 is a descriptive type written exam, carrying 300 marks. Questions are subject specific. The total duration is 2 hours.
