Railway Recruitment Cell of Central Railway invites online applications for the post of junior clerk and senior clerk. Eligible regular railway employees of central railway can apply against a total of 251 vacant posts. For the same, RRC recruitment notice has been published vide advertisement number RRC/CR/GDCE-02/2019, on the officail website available at rrccr.com. The end date upto which railway recruitment cell is accepting the applicants form online is January 19, 2020, till 6:00 pm.
Selection of the candidates for the engagement of candidates under RRC central railway will be done by General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE). According to the date announced in the advertisement the exam is due to be held in the month of February 2020.
RRC is recruiting for 171 vacancies in the post of junior clerk under level 2 of pay matrix. Out of the total seats recruitment cell has given provision for the reservation of seats to the reserved category candidates. In this case, there are 94 seats for UR, 21 for SC, 13 for ST and 43 for OBC. Similarly, for the junior clerk, hiring is being done for 80 seats in pay level 5. The segregation of seats for the same is 52 for UR, 5 for SC, 6 for ST and 17 for OBC.
To be eligible to apply for the post of junior clerk, RRC wants that a candidate must have cleared his/her 10+2 on or before the date of publication of the advertisement, with 50% marks in aggregate. Along with this, one must possess typing speed of 30 WPM in english typing and 25 WPM in hindi typing. However, as per extant norms, requirement of 50% aggregate marks is not applicable on SC, ST and ex-servicemen candidates. Similarly for the role of senior clerk, applicants need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution.
The applicable age limits are 42 years for general candidates, 45 years for OBC candidates and 47 years for SC/ST candidates. The age limit to appear for GDCE will be reckoned as on January 1, 2020 as mentioned under the notice.

The selection process of RRC shall comprise computer based test followed by a typing test, document verification and medical examination. The exam pattern for the recruitment includes a question paper with 100 questions. The total duration to complete the exam is 90 minutes or 1 hour 30 minutes. Date, time and venue of CBT and typing test will be intimated to the candidates in due course through mobile messages, registered email or RRC CR website.
Railway recruitment cell will make the final selection primarily as per the merit in the computer based test and typing test. The selected candidates will then have to appear for the document verification round for the confirmation.
