Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) has announced All India Online Aptitude Test (AIOAT) Result 2019 today, on May 21, 2019, at 6 PM. AIOAT result 2019 leads to admission to Diploma in Special Education courses. These courses train teachers for teaching children with disabilities and hence is sometimes referred to as Special BSTC.
Candidates across the country who appeared in exam on May 8, 2019 (and May 17, 2019, in Odisha) can visit applyadmission.net/aioat2019/ in order to check result. Here, they have to click link that says Click here to download Score Card of AIOAT Exam. [Check result here].
This leads to score card download page. Candidates need to enter application form number, date of birth, and captcha code to download score card.
Now after this, online portal will be opened from May 25, 2019, to June 2, 2019, for the purpose of round 1 admission. Thereafter it will again open from June 5 to 12, 2019 for round 2 admissions. Last and final round of admission shall happen from June 15 to 22, 2019. Classes will start in first week of July.
AIOAT 2019 was announced in February and its applications were invited until April 15, 2019. Admit card for the exam was released on April 26, 2019. Although exam was supposed to be held on single date, on the second Wednesday in May, it had to be postponed for Odisha. Then it was held on the third Friday in the same month. Even though an exam date was added, result has been announced on promised date.
There are 17 diploma programmes through Special BSTC. They are Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR), Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment) (DECSE_HI), Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Mental Retardation) (DECSE_MR), D.Ed. Special Education (Autism Spectrum Disorders) (DSE_ASD), D.Ed. Special Education (Cerebral Palsy) (DES_CP), D.Ed. Special Education (Deafblind) (DSE_DB).
Also D.Ed. Special Education (Hearing Impairment) (DSE_HI), D.Ed. Special Education (Multiple Disabilities) (DSE_MD), D.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation) (DSE_MR), D.Ed. Special Education (Visual Impairment) (DSE_VI). In addition there are Diploma in Hearing Aid Repair and Ear Mould Technology (DHAREMT), Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS), Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpretation (DISLI), Diploma in Prosthetics & Orthotics (DPO). And finally there are Diploma in Rehabilitation Therapy (DRT), Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation (Mental Retardation) (DVR_MR), Diploma in Computer Education (Visual Impairment) (DCE_VI).
Rehabilitation Council of India was established in 1986. It then became a statutory body in 1993. It is the most important government organization that looks after training and courses for disabled, disadvantaged, and special education communities.
The AIOAT has been conducted by RCI. Class 12 students with at least 50% marks (relaxation applicable on SC, ST, OBC, PwD) are eligible for admission through it. All details of AIOAT can be found also at rehabcouncil.nic.in.
