The Department of Elementary Education, Rajasthan will be conducting the Basic School Teaching Course (BSTC) exam on August 31, 2020, in an offline format. It is a two-year diploma course for candidates who wish to seek teaching jobs afterwards in the state of Rajasthan. The exam will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in an offline mode. The admit card for the same was released by the conducting body on August 26, 2020. Candidates can download the admit card online at predeled.com.
To download the admit card, candidates must log in to the official portal by filling out their registration number and date of birth. Candidates must keep in mind that no entry will be permitted without proper verification of the admit card prior to the examination. The admit card for Rajasthan BSTC contains all the important details like exam guidelines, exam date, time as well as center. Candidates are permitted to carry their admit card along with a blue or black ballpoint pen to fill in the OMR sheet provided during the exam.
The BSTC examination will be held in pen and paper mode i.e. the offline mode. The exam will be conducted for three hours i.e. from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The exam is of 600 marks based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The total number of questions is 200 and each question carries 3 marks. No marks will be deducted in case a question is wrongly answered.
The paper is divided into five sections – Mental ability, General information of Rajasthan, Teaching Aptitude, English and Hindi or Sanskrit. The first three sections are of 50 marks each. The English section is of 20 marks while the Hindi/Sanskrit section is of 30 marks.
The syllabus for the exam is divided into five sections that are mentioned above. Mental ability contains aspects like analogy, reasoning, discrimination, relationship analysis and logical thinking. General awareness contains historical, political, economic, geographic, art, culture and literature aspects. It also contains folk-life, social aspects and tourism.
Teaching aptitude contains subjects like leadership quality, teaching learning, creativity, Continuous and comprehensive evaluation, communication skills, professional attitude and social sensitivity. The two language sections contain concepts like prepositions, articles, spotting errors, synonyms, antonyms, tens, sentence completion, kind of sentences, narration, connectives, correction of sentences, etc. The complete and detailed syllabus of the exam is available on the official website.
The BSTC examination was previously scheduled for August 30, 2020. However, due to the COVID19 crisis, the state of Rajasthan is under a lockdown till August 30, 2020. Hence, the exam was postponed by one day and will be conducted on August 31, 2020.
