A sort of agitation seems to be taking shapes voices have been raised by the MBBS student body, GIDA, FAIMA for postponing the NEET PG 2022. All those MBBS students who are currently undergoing internship periods are urging the agency to conduct the exam either in June or July 2022. While addressing this issue, the student’s body also demanded that those whose internship period is going to be over by October 2022 should also be allowed to appear in NEET PG 2022.
A report published by a leading daily also suggests that around 8032 doctors who will be completing their medical internship by June 2022 are not allowed to appear in the NEET PG exam this year. The reason put forth by the student’s body is that their final year exams were hampered by COVID second wave citing which their internships were delayed till June 2022. Hence, the doctors who will complete their internships in June and October 2022 are not at fault at this time.
For a lot of us who don’t know, the internship criteria is one of the key eligibility norms as per which any candidate applying for NEET PG has to complete an internship period of at least 1 year from any private or public hospital. This norm cannot be flouted as it helps in knowing if the candidate has the practical experience of working as a health care worker.
Now, a question has raised brows that what will happen if the NEET PG 2022 is postponed? It is still unclear if the authorities will cancel the exam but one thing is for sure that with postponement the candidates can expect a delay in the overall counseling process. The candidates are advised to stay away from any kind of speculations or rumors and concentrate on their studies as of now.
