MHT CET 2021

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or MHT CET 2021 is a state-level entrance exam that is conducted by the government of Maharashtra for admitting students to various Engineering and Pharmacy UG courses. The examination is set to be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, the test will be conducted from September 04, 2021 to September 10, 2021. Similarly, the second phase will commence from September 14, 2021 and end by September 20, 2021. Nevertheless, no official and specific dates have been announced yet.

With the first phase of the examination becoming imminent, students, parents and other stakeholders are now demanding a change in the examination date. The primary reason behind this demand is that the MHT CET 2021 schedule is seen to clash with other exams like NEET, ICAR, CBSE Class 12 Improvement and compartment exam, etc. Under the light of these circumstances, Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, President of India Wide Parents Association (IWPA), has written to the state education minister Uday Samant to reschedule the examinations. She mentioned that the upcoming examination is going to clash with other exams and hence MHT CET 2021 must be postponed for a week or ten days.

The students have now taken to Twitter and are demanding for the postponement of MHT CET 2021. However, in many posts, it was seen that most students are in distress. The reason behind this is that there has been no official declaration of the dates. This has created a lot of confusion among the student community. Some have even urged to hold the MHT CET 2021 after the JEE Advanced so that they can focus on one exam at a time.

On the other hand, a particular student has highlighted that many students are from rural places. Due to the prevailing monsoons, they are unable to get access to proper internet connectivity. Hence, to keep the best interests of these students, MHT CET must be postponed to October.

The dates for other examinations are such that NEET 2021 is scheduled on September 12, 2021. Likewise, the CBSE Class 12 improvement and compartment exams are lined up from August 25, 2021 to September 15, 2021. The ICAR AIEEA 2021 UG examination will be held over three dates namely September 07, 08 and 13, 2021. This examination is just after a day from NEET 2021 and hence students would face difficulty. In fact, the CBSE Mathematics improvement exam also falls on the same day, i.e. September 13, 2021.
