Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha has released the answer key of ODisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2019 today. The provisional scoring key and challenge window will remain open until October 10, which is the last date to check answer key and submit challenges.
OTET was conducted from August 5 to August 18, and September 22. Answer key for the exam has now been uploaded at bseodisha.nic.in. To check the same, candidates need to go to the website >> OTET-2019 (Prov. Scoring Key & Challenge) >> Click on the link.
On the next page, candidates have to login with registration number, password, date of exam. This opens the question paper with answer key, and option to challenge the answers is also there.
As per notification no 542/OTET/Dt-03.10.2019 published in leading dailies, candidates have to pay Rs 500 per response that they want to challenge. The board will accept application for challenge only in online mode in the time period provided for the same. Challenges through any other mode like email, post, in person will not be entertained.
If BSE Odisha accepts the challenge, then the full amount paid for it by the candidate will be refunded to his or her bank account. The amount will be transferred to the same account from where payment was made.
BSE Odisha will not accept any requests regarding the matter through RTI. Odisha has made proactive disclosure of all information.
Now that answer key has been released, it is expected that result will be declared soon. However it may be noted that the result of OTET 2019 will only be declared after October 10, because until then the board is accepting challenges. Even after that, it will take some time because first the board will have to go through all the challenges, then compile fresh answers, and then get the papers evaluated as per final answer key.
Candidates will get marks on the basis of the final answers. In the result, they will be able to check marks as well as qualifying status. Only those candidates who get marks equal to or above the qualifying marks will be declared as qualified and they will be eligible for the TET certificate.
Odisha TET 2019 is finally coming to a close. After the initial hiccups of 2018 (when paper leak case led to cancellation of exam), the 2019 exam was closely followed by all in academia. This exam has gone off without a hitch and there have been no complaints about the exam insofar.
Teacher Eligibility Tests are conducted in the country to regulate the quality of teachers. Below 60% marks, candidates are not declared fit to be teachers. However 5% relaxation in marks is sometimes awarded on the basis of norms existing in the states, or the schools where the teacher later looks for a job. At national level, the CTET 2019 application form correction is ongoing, for the exam to be held on December 8, 2019.
