Odisha Postal Circle has released an official notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak. As per the official notification, Odisha Postal Circle has announced 2060 vacancies for the said post. The application procedure has already started from today onwards, September 01, 2020. Eligible and interested candidates can submit the applications for the said posts before September 30, 2020. Download the detailed notification for the recruitment with ‘NO. The posts that are advertised under Gramin Dak Sevak are of Brach Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster and Dak Sevak. Candidates who are recruited as Brach Postmaster gets a monthly salary of Rs. 12,000 or Rs. 14500/- and Assistant Branch Branch Postmaster and Dak Sevak get Rs. 10,000/- or Rs. 12,000/-.
Before submitting the application, candidates have to fulfil the eligibility criteria as prescribed by Odisha Postal Circle. To apply, candidates must have completed the minimum age limit of 18 years and not exceed the maximum age limit of 40 years. The age is calculated as on September 01, 2020, by Odisha Postal Circle. However, age relaxation is permissible to reserved category candidates which are as follows – up to 05 years for SC/ ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities, 13 years for Persons with Disabilities + OBC and 15 years for Persons with Disabilities + SC/ ST.
Candidates should have passed 10th class to apply for the aforementioned posts. Those who have passed 10th class in their first attempt are preferred. They must have obtained passing marks in Mathematics, local language and English. Moreover, applicants must have studied local language at least yup to 10th class as a compulsory or elective subject. Check the list of official languages from the official notification. Candidates also have to furnish a Basic Computer Training Course Certificate from any computer training institute run by government/ private institutions.
Applicants can submit their application form through online mode only They have to visit the website – https://indiapost.gov.in or https://appost.in/gdsonline – to submit the online application form. Before submitting the application form, it is mandatory for candidates to register themselves. While registering they have to provide details such as their name, father’s name, mobile number, date of birth, community, 10th class pass state, 10th class board, year of passing, and transgender certificate issued by District Magistrate (if applicable). On successful registration, a registration number is generated which can be used for submission and application during the cycle of any circle.
Also, each applicant has to pay the application fee by visiting any Head Post Office or other identified Post Offices in India. OC/OBC/EWS Male / trans-man category candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- whereas Female / trans-woman/ PwD candidates are exempted from fee submission.
