National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2019 Answer key and question paper on January 15, 2019, for both paper 1 and paper 2 at jeemain.nic.in.

NTA has conducted the Joint Entrance Examination 2019 from January 08-12, 2019 in 2 shifts each day. The answer key and question paper are available for each day and each shift under the candidate’s login. The candidates can use their application number and date of birtn or application number or password to get the JEE Main 2019 Official answer key and question papers.

Once you login, the answer key will be made available for your shift and day of the exam in the PDF format.

Before NTA releases the JEE Main 2019 Answer key, several other coaching institutes like Allen Kota, Aakash, Resonance, etc. has also released their version of JEE Main 2019 answer keys. These unofficial answer keys are released on the same day, just a few hours after the exam has been conducted.

Challenging the JEE Main 2019 Answer key

The last date to challenge the answer key as per the reports is January 18, 2019. There is no official last date announced as of now. The reports claim that the window to challenge will close on January 18, 2019. Thus, there are only 3 days to challenge the answer key. Thus, candidates are advised to challenge the answer keys within the time frame.

If any objections found in the answer key released, a candidate can avail the facility of challenging it in online mode. To challenge the key, a candidate will be required to log in, choose the Question ID, that they wish to object. Furthermore, such candidates will be required to submit an additional fee Rs. 1000/- per question via using Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking.

A group of experts then looks into the objections received. And if any mistakes found, the NTA will then release a final JEE Main 2019 answer key, which cannot be challenged further. Shortly after the answer key has been released, NTA will announce the JEE Main 2019 Result for January session. The result for January session is said to be declared on January 31, 2019.

On the basis of the cut off marks declared, selected candidates will be then eligible for admission to various NITs, IIITs and CFTIs or will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2019. Qualified candidates will be required to participate in a counseling round, which shall be conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).

JEE Main 2019 Marking Scheme?

Candidates will be required to know the marking scheme in order to be able to estimate their chances of qualifying for the exam. For every correct answer, a candidate will be awarded 4 marks and every incorrect answer, a candidate will be deducted 1 mark. Zero marks will be deducted if a question remains unattempted.

From this year onward, NTA has taken over the role of conducting JEE Main from CBSE. It will conduct JEE Main, twice a year i.e in the month of January and April in online mode (except for the drawing test in Paper 2).
