It is now official that IGNOU OPENMAT and B.Ed entrance for January 2020 admission will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) made the announcement on the official website ignou.ac.in. In the announcement, the Open University disclosed that the entrance exam will be held on July 27, 2019, in more than 100 cities in the country.
The registration for both the examinations will begin soon. NTA will open registration online, on ntaignou.nic.in and the last date to apply will be July 1, 2019. A hard copy of the application form will not be provided for IGNOU OPENMAT or B.Ed exam. To apply, the candidates will have to submit basic details such as name, e-mail id, phone number, education qualified candidates, etc. The amount of application fee will be announced in due course of time. IGNOU will also host all the information related to the courses on ignou.ac.in.
The examination will be held online. Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, said that NAT has been handed over the responsibility to hold OPENMAT and B.Ed exam because it has expertise in conducting the exam. So far, NTA has managed to conduct all the examination with transparency and efficiency. He also mentioned that if the online exams are conducted smoothly, then IGNOU will shift all the major examination to online mode.
National Testing Agency (NTA) is a national body, responsible for conducting multiple national and University level examination. Though at an infant stage, the Agency has taken over major national level examination live JEE Main, NEET, CMAT, GPAT, ICAR AIEEA, etc. Apart from these, it is also conducting examination for JNU, Delhi University, and more. Now, IGNOU has also been added to the list.
OPENMAT and B.Ed entrance examinations are among the most popular exams conducted by IGNOU. IGNOU OPENMAT is the entrance examination distance MBA course. Until now, the examination was held twice a year. However, if NTA will conduct in multiple times or not, will be disclosed in due course of time.
IGNOU B.Ed entrance exam is conducted for admission of candidates in short term and long term programs. For both the examination, NTA will soon release information brochure and dates. It is expected that the syllabus and exam pattern will remain the same, as NTA has not changed the pattern of any examination so far.
