The National Testing Agency is a body approved by the Union Cabinet. It will be chaired by a member appointed by MHRD. The agency will be responsible for conducting the entrance examination at the national level. Earlier, bodies like CBSE, AICTE used to conduct major entrance exam in the field of Engineering, Medical, and Management. Now, NTA will be wholly responsible for the conduction of these exams. In the latest news, JEE Main, JPAT, NEET, CMAT, and UGC NET will be conducted by NTA. Having the same agency for the exams helps to bring symmetry in exam conduction and difficulty level of question papers of same exams.
Earlier, CMAT was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education for admission in MBA, PGDM, Executive PGDM, PGCM courses. Now, will be conducted by NTA only. With this announcement, the exam date has also been announced early. It was a speculation earlier that exam will take place in the third week of January 2019, but now it has been confirmed that CMAT will conduct on January 27, 2019.
