Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is currently conducting the NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) 2021 through two modes. Candidates have a choice to give the exam through the centre-based online mode or proctored computer-based format. The aptitude test will go on till December 27, 2021, and aspirants can take the exam at their convenience. The last date to register for the aptitude test is November 10, 2021.
With the NMAT 2021 Window 1 recently concluded, here’s a detailed analysis of the type of questions asked, difficulty level, topic-wise distribution of questions and other aspects. So, those who are appearing for the admission test in the coming few days can take a look at the analysis and improve their last-minute preparation.
NMAT 2021 Exam UI Analysed
Before getting into the NMAT 2021 analysis, it’s important for candidates to understand the exam’s user interface (UI). After logging in, candidates will have to accept the non-disclosure agreement, go through the 8-minute exam tutorial and select the sectional order. After completing all these steps, candidates will get a look at the exam UI. On the screen, a timer will be displayed at the top-right corner with the question number displayed below it. Candidates just have to select the right option and click on “Next” in the bottom right corner. However, before moving on to the next question, candidates must make sure that they have marked the correct option. This is because they won’t be able to access previous questions after moving to the subsequent ones.
NMAT 2021 Test Structure
The NMAT 2021 examination comprised of three sections – Language Skills, Logical Reasoning Skills and Quantitative Skills, Each section had 36 questions for which candidates were given different time duration depending on the difficulty level of questions. But overall, candidates had to attempt all 108 questions within the span of 120 minutes. Around 52 minutes were allotted to solve the Quantitative Skills section while 40 and 28 minutes duration were allotted by students to Logical Reasoning Skills and Language Skills, respectively.
NMAT 2021 Difficulty-Level of Questions
In the case of the Language Skills Section, both Reading Comprehension and VA & Grammar were of easy-to-moderate level in terms of difficulty. Within the Logical Reasoning Skills section, candidates found Analytical Reasoning easy while Verbal Reasoning was of the moderate difficulty level. Finally, in the Quantitative Skills section, QA was easy-to-moderate while DI/DS questions were easy to solve. Surprisingly, candidates found Logical Reasoning trickier and more difficult compared to mathematics when usually, it’s the other way round.
