National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra has invited offline application form for admission to the Ph.D courses offered on full time and part time basis in even semester of academic year 2019-20.
The admission in the full time course is based on institute, CSIR-UGC-NET-JRF, or project fellowship.
To apply for admission the students have to fill the offline application form and send it to the office of the Registrar of NIT Kurukshetra by November 15, 2019 before 05:00 PM. Prospective students can download the application form, non-refundable application fee details and other relevant details along with Ph.D. ordinance from the website nitkkr.ac.in.
On the application form for admission, candidates have to paste a passport size image. The mode of payment is via DD and the application fee is Rs 500, and Rs 200 for SC, ST, PWD candidates. DD should be in the name of the Director, NIT, Kurukshetra. The downloadable application form has 5 pages.
In the page 1 the candidates have to fill the details like name, date of birth, details of parents, page 2 has to be filed with academic details and on page 3 the DD details has to be filled. In rest of the 2 pages the students can check the certificate formats.
With the application form the candidates have to attach matriculation certificate, bachelor’s degree certificate and marksheet, master’s degree certificate and marksheet, GATE or NET score card, category certificate if belonging to any one of the categories SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, PWD, EWS. Category certificate should be in the format that is available with the offline application form.
In case the application form is received after the last date, the application fee will not be refunded.
As per the PhD ordinance wef academic session 2019-20 on NIT KKR website, the present prescribed fee payable by PhD scholars is Rs 7500 per semester for full time and part time students. Medical insurance, hostel fees, mess security will be extra. Further, the ordinance dictates that first the applications will be reviewed, then candidates may be called for two tests. Paper 1 will be research methodology of 30 marks, 30 minutes. Paper 2 will be on areas of research or specialization, also of 30 marks, 30 minutes. Interaction / interview shall be of 40 marks, in which 15 marks will be for presentation, 15 for interview, and 10 for academic achievements. Candidates may however coordinate with the institute for precise processes.
