The application process for admissions to the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has begun, dated December 3, 2021. According to the admission calendar, the last date to apply will be January 17, 2022, after which candidates will have to pay a late fee fine of INR 5000 along with the application fee. It must also be noted that the late applications will be accepted from January 18 to 22, 2022.
According to the official notification, admit cards will be available to download from January 29 on the official website of NIFT, nift.nic.ac and the Prelims exam will be conducted on February 6, 2022. Dates regarding the result declaration will be released later by NIFT.
Before starting the application process candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria mentioned in the admission prospectus. Candidates must have a valid Email ID and a mobile number before beginning the registration.
NIFT 2022: How to Apply
All the eligible candidates who are willing to apply can apply online on NIFT official website nift.ac.in or niftadmissions.in. Candidates can check the below-mentioned steps to apply:
Step 1 – Candidates will have to register themselves at niftadmissions.in.
Step 2 – After the registration candidates will have to activate their application through an activation code sent on the registered mail.
Step 3 – After activation, the form will appear on the screen where candidates will have to fill in all their personal details.
Step 4 – After the completion of registration candidates will be required to upload scanned images of photo and signature.
Step 5 – In the next step candidates will be required to fill in the educational qualifications.
Step 6 – After filling in all the details candidates will be asked to review their details and confirm. No editing will be allowed once the application is done.
Step 7 – Candidates will have to pay the application fee in the next step. Fee can only be paid through online mode.
The registration fee for NIFT entrance is INR 2000 for General and OBC candidates and INR 1000 for SC, ST, and PWD candidates. Candidates are asked to check the admission prospectus available on the website to familiarize themselves with eligibility criteria and other relevant details.

As far as the exam is concerned, NIFT conducts General Ability Test for the admissions into Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of design. GAT is of MCQ type, which is conducted in both English and Hindi. The total number of questions and the duration of the exam will depend on the program applied for.
