The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) has announced the schedule of the NEST 2022 examination on its official website. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 18, 2022, in an online mode. The application form and the details regarding the examination are available on the official website of NEST nestexam.in. The interested candidates can fill out the application form from February 21, 2022.
NEST 2022 – how to register
Candidates can follow the below steps to register for NEST 2022 –
Step 1: Visit the official website of NEST at nestexam.in
Step 2: Click on the link that reads “Apply Online”.
Step 3: Enter the required details such as name, email address, etc.
Step 4: Candidates will receive a link in the email to confirm the registration.
Step 5: After confirming, enter the secret code and log in.
Candidates should pay an application fee of ₹1200 (General, OBC, EWS) and ₹600 (SC, ST, PWD, Women) through online mode for completing the registration process. Candidates have the option to choose as many as five exam centers while filling up the application form. The allotted center and other details will be present in the admit card which will be released after the registration process is complete.
NEST 2022 – Exam Pattern, Eligibility
NEST 2022 will be conducted in a computer-based mode in the month of June. The exam will be conducted in two sessions. The duration of the exam is 3 hours with multiple choice questions for a total of 230 marks. There will be a total of 5 sections with each section carrying 50 marks and the general section carrying 30 marks. There is no prescribed syllabus for the general section as it tests the candidates’ skills over general sciences. However, the other sections are Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry following a set pattern and syllabus. There will be no negative marking in the general section but there will be negative marking in the subject section. The syllabus is broadly based on the topics covered in Class 11 and 12. There will be a counseling session after the conclusion of the exam.

Candidates who have passed Class 10 or 12 or are in the final year can apply for NEST 2022. But they should have studied mathematics and other science subjects during the course. They should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in these exams whereas there is a relaxation of 55% for SC, ST students. Candidates from Jammu Kashmir. Andhrapradesh and Telangana also have a state-wise reservation of 15%.
