NEST 2021 Exam Postponed, Registration Deadline Extended to 15 July

NEST 2021 was previously scheduled to be conducted on June 14, 2021 but has been postponed to a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) has postponed the (National Entrance Screening Test) NEST 2021. Previously, the examination was scheduled for June 14, 2021. However, the examination has been scheduled for a later date which shall be announced in due course of time. Similarly, NISER has also extended the registration deadline to July 15, 2021, up to 11:55 pm. The announcements have been published on the official website nestexam.in. According to the website, the postponement decision was taken in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

NISER authorities took cognisance of the coronavirus situation in the country and hence, was compelled to postpone the NEST 2021 examination. The new exam date is expected to be announced once the situation normalises in the country. To the candidate’s relief, adequate advance notice shall also be given about the new dates to help them prepare for the exam. Other than this, authorities have not provided any tentative date or schedule for the exam.

NEST 2021 application process began on February 24, 2021, and was previously, scheduled to end on May 10, 2021. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities extended the registration deadline to May 20, 2021. However, as authorities have postponed the exam, the registration deadline has invariably been extended to July 15, 2021, up to 11:55 pm.

The previous schedule suggests that the NEST exam is conducted about a month after the completion of the application process. Going by this trend, NEST 2021 is likely to be conducted after August 15, 2021, if the situation normalises in the country. However, it all depends on the feasibility of conducting the entrance exam in the future.

Interested candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply for the NEST 2021 examination on the official website nest.exam.in. To do so, they must click on the “Online Application” tab. A new link shall open in which candidates have to enter their application name, date of birth, roll no. or registration no. from Class 10 mark sheet or hall ticket, mobile no. and email ID. Thereafter, they must enter the captcha and click on the “register” option.

Successfully registered candidates shall receive their login credentials like username and password on their registered email ID. Using these credentials, aspirants must log in to the website and fill the online application form. They are required to fill in information such as personal details and educational qualification. Furthermore, they must also select their exam city preference before proceeding to the next step.

NEST 2021 application form also includes uploading the candidate’s passport size image and signature. Lastly, they are required to pay the prescribed application fee through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. General category candidates have to pay Rs. 1200 as an application fee. Candidates who belong to SC, ST, PwD , Supernumerary J&K category candidates along with female candidates have to pay Rs. 600. Once the transaction gets processed, candidates should note down their transaction ID for future reference.
