NEET 2022

National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to release the NEET 2022 application form soon for all the medical aspirants. Earlier, reports suggested that the information brochure shall be released in February 2022 and exams shall be held in July 2022. However, as of now, there is no official confirmation regarding these speculated dates. Another factor that has become a roadblock in the release of the NEET 2022 information brochure is the pending petition in the Supreme Court regarding the upper age limit for the NEET examination. Until there is a final judgment on that matter, candidates cannot expect the official notification.

Eligibility & Exam Pattern

NEET 2022 is a UG level entrance examination hence the basic eligibility is completing class 10+2 with at least 50% marks in three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum age limit for the candidates applying for the examination is 17 years as of December 31, 2022.

NEET is going to be held in the offline mode in the OMR mode with questions mainly of MCQ nature. The question paper is framed in 13 regional languages other than the English and Hindi language. NEET paper is going to have 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. There shall be 50 questions from two sections, out of which section A shall have 35 questions and section B will have 15 questions. Out of the 15 questions, only 10 have to be answered by the candidate. The candidate shall get 4 marks for each correct answer and there is going to be a deduction of 1 mark for wrong answers.

Candidates who successfully clear the written examination are going to be called for the counseling section. In the NEET exam, 15% of the admission shall be based on the AIQ based quota and 85% of the admission shall be based on the state-based quota. The final admission to deserving candidates is going to be based on the aggregate marks scored, and rank scored by the candidates in the written examination.
