The National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) 2021 was successfully conducted on September 12, 2021. Approximately, 16.14 lakh registered candidates had appeared for the exam, making it quite a competitive playing field for the forthcoming counselling process. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to announce the NEET 2021 results soon, most probably in the second week of October 2021. Before this however, agency will be re-opening the application portal for candidates to fill the second phase of the form. This is essentially referred to as “NEET Phase 2”.
What Is NEET 2021 Phase 2?
NTA will re-open the NEET 2021 application form and ask candidates to fill in more details, referred to as the second set of details. And this process will be called as NEET 2021 phase 2 registration.
In an unprecedented move, the NEET 2021 application form has been divided into two sets. The purpose behind doing so is to ensure that the candidate’s information is submitted quickly, as confirmed by NTA officials. The first set of information had to be submitted on or before August 06, 2021, to successfully registered for the entrance exam. Whereas candidates need to fill the second phase of information latest before the declaration of results. The exact timeline of the second phase is yet to be confirmed by authorities.
While the exact timeline is not known, a simple assumption can be made for the NEET 2021 phase 2 registration. Last year, the NEET exam was conducted on September 13, 2020, and results for the same were announced on October 16, 2020. Based on this, NTA is likely to announce the NEET 2021 results by October 15-16, 2021. So, candidates will get time up to this tentative date for completing their Phase 2 registration.
The commencement date however, is still not known. Hence, candidates are advised to visit the official website neet.nta.nic.in or refer reliable news portals for any update in this regard. Based on the public notice issued in July 2021, the NEET 2021 Phase 2 registration is likely to begin soon.
During the NEET 2021 Phase 2 registration, candidates are required to fill the details given below –
