National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the result for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 on June 05, 2019. The result for NEET 2019 is available at ntaneet.nic.in. The entrance exam for NEET 2019 was conducted on May 05, 2019 throughout the county and on May 20, 2019, for Odisha candidates.
Candidates can check NEET 2019 Result by visiting the official website of the exam. On the homepage of the website, the candidates need to click on the relevant link for checking the result. Next, the candidates need to log-in by entering their roll number and date of birth. Click on the “Sign In” button to submit the details. On submitting the details, the result is displayed in the next screen. Candidates can then take a print out of the result for future reference.
On the basis of the All India Rank (AIR) of the candidate, NTA prepares the NEET 2019 Merit list. The candidates are included in the AIR if they achieve the NEET 2019 cutoff. The general category candidates will be considered for the NEET 2019 merit list on scoring a minimum 50th percentile, 45th percentile in case of SC category, 40th percentile for ST category and 45th percentile for PwD candidates.
While preparing the merit list if two or more candidates get the same marks then NTA uses the tie-breaking process. This includes giving preference to the candidate scoring higher marks in Botony and Zoology. If there is still a tie, the preference will be given to students with higher marks in chemistry. If the tie still persists, the student with less number of incorrect answers will be considered first. Lastly, to resolve the tie as the last option, students who are older in age will be given preference in the merit.
The result for NTA NEET 2019 consist of details such as candidate’s name, roll number, the application number, mother’s name, father’s name, date of birth, marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, total marks, percentile score obtained by the candidate, All India Quota rank, etc.
The NTA forwards the list of successful candidates to DG of Health Services, medical examination cell of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to conduct counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats. The MInistry further forward the list to the concerned State Counselling Authorities and Admitting Institution to conduct NEET 2019 counselling for other than 15% All India Quota seats.
A total of 15,19,375 candidates registered for NEET 2019 out of which 14,10,754 aspirants appeared for the exam. As per newspaper reports, over 500 students missed NEET 2019 exam on May 5 due to a train delay in Karnataka and the exam was canceled in Odisha region.
