The NEET 2018 result has now been announced. CBSE was supposed to declare the Results on June 5, 2018. However, CBSE had declared the Results today, on June 04, 2018 at 12:15 PM. As expected this year the cutoff score has dropped. Last year, for the Unreserved category the cutoff marks were 697 – 131. Whereas this year the cutoff score dipped to 691 – 119 for the unreserved categories. The dip in cutoff was expected by the experts as the physics section was considered tough and lengthy this year in NEET.
Above data is the NEET 2018 Cutoff. As per the data above, the number of candidates who fall in the range of 50th percentile must have scored between 691 to 119 in the unreserved category. Whereas for the OBC category the cutoff percentile is 40 for the candidates who have scored between 118 and 96. For sc and ST too the cutoff percentile remain 40, and the score range also remains the same which is 118 to 96 marks.
Last year the cutoff marks were much higher. For unreserved category, the cutoff percentile was 50, but the marks range was 697 – 131. For SC, ST, and OBC the cutoff percentile was 40, and the score range was 130 to 107.
Therefore, this year for the unreserved category the maximum cutoff score has dipped by 6 marks and the minimum cutoff score has dipped by 12 marks. Thus this year the candidates have to score between 691 – 119 to be able to make it to the merit list of General category. Whereas for reserved categories like SC, ST, and OBC, the candidates had to score between 118 to 96.
This year the number of candidates who are in the 50th percentile group are 6,34,897. Whereas last year the number of candidates who have qualified for the 50th percentile group were 5,43,473 in the general category.
Also, last year, a total of 6,11,739 students qualified the exam. In the top 25 scorers, there were 9 girls and 16 boys. This year, 13,26,725 had registered for the examination.
This year as per the students, the Physics paper was lengthier as compared to last year with an increase in the application based and calculative questions. Although, overall the paper was moderate. The results of NEET 2018 will not be re-evaluated under any circumstances. The answers are checked through the machine and the possibility of error is close to none.
