National Book Trust, India is inviting offline applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill up 26 latest vacancies advertised at the official website nbtindia.gov.in. The vacancies are for various posts including Assistant Director, Assistant Editor, Accountant, Librarian and others. NBT has issued a latest notification in this regard at the official website. Interested candidates can check the notification and forward application for the desired post within 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in Employment News. Proforma for applications can be downloaded from the official website of NBT.
The 26 vacancies are to be filled up by employing the selected candidates for a lien period. The initial probation is for a period of 02 years. 03 openings are available for the post of Assistant Director out of which, 01 is for the (Production) category. 02 vacancies are also available for Assistant Editor while 03 are available for the post of Editorial Assistant. There is a single vacancy for the post of Production Assistant and 03 for the post of Accountant.
Besides the aforementioned posts, there are 02 vacancies for Sr. Stenographer post, 04 for Assistant post, 01 for Librarian post and 01 for Jr. Translator (Hindi). There are 02 vacancies for the post of Library Assistant, 01 for the post of Jr. Artist and 03 for the post of Driver. All of the vacancies are to be filled up on a direct recruitment basis.

For example, candidates within the age of 35 years and holding a degree & 05 years of relevant experience can apply for the post of Assistant Director. Those who have a degree and 2 years PG Diploma in Book Publishing with specialization in book production are eligible for Assistant Director (Production) post.
A Masters degree is essential for the post of Assistant Editor along with good knowledge of the literary scene, working knowledge of English or Hindi and 5 years of relevant experience. Class 10th pass candidates who have completed three years Diploma in Printing Technology are eligible to apply for the post of Production Assistant given that they have three years of practical experience. Applicants must be within the age of 30 years.
