National Book Trust is hiring to fill up vacancies for the post of Editorial Assistant in various Indian languages in 2020

National Book Trust, India is hiring to fill up 15 vacancies for the post of Editorial Assistant. The vacancies for the post are released through an official recruitment notification published at the website of the NBT i.e. nbtindia.gov.in. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to apply for recruitment to the posts on a contractual basis. The proforma for applications is appended with the detailed recruitment notification available at the official website. The last date of receipt of applications is September 23, 2020.

As per the detailed recruitment notification published by the National Book Trust, the 15 contractual vacancies are available against various Indian languages. The distribution of the available number of vacancies against various Indian languages for the post of Editorial Assistant is indicated in the notice. Two vacancies are available for the post in the Hindi language while 03 vacancies are available for the English language. The other vacancies are distributed against the languages of Assamiya, Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Selected candidates are to be paid monthly salary in the range of Rs 30000 – Rs 40000.

Candidates must, however, fulfil the specified minimum eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. In order to apply, the maximum age of the applicants need to be within the prescribed limit of 45 years. In addition, candidates must possess the specified minimum educational qualifications in order to apply for the recruitment. Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree awarded by any recognized institute are eligible to apply for the recruitment. It is important to have proficiency in the language applied. In addition, candidates need to have a working knowledge of English and Hindi language irrespective of the language that they apply for recruitment to.

Candidates must also be adequately experienced to apply for recruitment. A minimum of three years post-qualification experience is required with the knowledge of proofreading, editing, translating, book assessment writing, content development, booklet layout designing etc. It is desirable that candidates have a Masters degree in the specified language. The engagement to the aforementioned post will be done on a contractual basis for a period of 06 months during the initial engagement.

The format of application is appended with the detailed recruitment notification available at the official website. Candidates must fill-up the applications in the prescribed proforma and forward to the Deputy Director (Estt & Admn) National Book Trust, India Nehru Bhawan, 5 Institutional Area, Phase II, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi – 110070 on or before the last date. Along with the applications, self-attested copies of all supporting documents must be attached and the originals produced at the time of interview.
