Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) has released the result for MICA Admission Test (MICAT) 2019. The result has been announced for MICAT-II exam that was conducted on February 09, 2019. It has been issued at mica.ac.in. Candidates can easily download the MICAT 2 scorecard using the User ID and Password. Along with it, the institute also releases the list of candidates selected for Group Exercise and Personal Interview round (GE-PI).
In case, students have appeared for both the window, then the MICA has considered the better of the two performances. Out of total candidates who have applied for the exam, only 10% of candidates get the GEPI call. As per the data available on the official website, last year 748 students were selected out of total 7516 applicants.
The official website of MICA was not working properly around 1:00 PM. However, candidates could able to access the login link to check their scorecard.
Candidates who have cleared the four-stage selection process are only selected for GEPI round. The qualifying criteria of MICA include qualifying the psychometric test. Following that scores of national level exams ie CAT/ XAT / GMAT are considered. Only students who clear the minimum cut-off are considered selected for this round. Next, candidates are evaluated on the basis of the sectional scores. Then, candidates having low scores in the Descriptive test are eliminated in this round.
MICA also normalizes the scores to maintain fairness across two sessions of the exam. So, in case one section is easier or tougher, then the scores of students are scaled accordingly by the institute. As per the formula available on the official website, MICAT score = (score of a student in a section/ maximum score obtained in a section by a candidate in any session) X maximum possible score in a section.
In the Group Exercise, candidates have to perform in a group of 7-8 students. Each group will be given a topic to prepare, it could be a skit, small project. Each candidate has to give peculiar contributions in order to stand out in the group. The marks are given in this section on the basis of the team and individual performance. Next, the interview round will take place. For this section, prepare questions based career goals, work experience, academics etc.
Once the GEPI round completes for all the students, the final merit list will be prepared for the admission to the academic year 2019-21. The CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT scores, GE, and PI has a weight-age of 20%, 30%, 20%, and 30% respectively. Moreover, candidates must have a minimum of 3.5 out of 5.0 point scale in the Group Exercise. Similarly, in the Personal interview, it is important to get atleast 4 or more on a 5-point scale.
