State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra, has today, March 30, issued an important notice, announcing the extension of the registration deadline. Much to the relief of candidates, the application deadline has been extended to April 15, up to 11:59 pm, without late fee. Beyond this deadline, candidates can apply from April 16 to 23, up to 11:59 pm. However, they will have to bear a late fee charge of INR 500. The public notice was issued in the PDF format, on the official website mhtcet2022.mahacet.org.
MHT CET 2022 Application Deadline Extended by two Weeks
Initially, when the entrance test cell had announced the MHT CET 2022 dates, the last date to apply was March 31, 2022, up to 11:59 pm. Going by this logic, the registration link was set to close tomorrow. However, a public notice has been issued today, announcing a 15-day extension in the registration deadline.
As per the notice, interested and eligible students can apply for MHT CET 2022 examination on or before April 15, 2022, at 11:59 pm. During this extended period, candidates will not have to bear any late fee charges, Reiterating this, the notice contained the following statement –
Please note that no late fee will be charged for Application Confirmation and Examination fees paid between February 10, 2022 to April 15, 2022.
The MHT CET 2022 registration process began on February 10, 2022, through the online mode. Applications were invited from eligible candidates to apply for B.Tech, B.Agric, and B.Pharm. Candidates have been given more than 2 months to fill and submit the application form.
Late Fee Charges of INR 500 Beyond April 15
Previously, candidates could apply for the MHT CET 2022 examination beyond the initial deadline of March 31, 2022. They could apply from April 01 to 07, provided they bear the late fee charges of Rs.500. However, the application deadline has been extended. So, invariably, the deadline to apply late has also been revised.
Accordingly, candidates can apply for the MHT CET 2022 examination from April 16 to 23, up to 11:59 pm, with certain additional charges. It is important to note that these charges along with the application fee need to be paid online.
Exam Date Not Yet Announced
For the convenience of applicants, the Maharashtra entrance test cell has published a detailed information bulletin on the official website mhtcet2022.mahacet.org. Candidates are advised to go through the brochure carefully before filling-up the form.
Interestingly, while the MHT CET 2022 registration deadline has been extended, there is no update on the exam date. Even in the brochure, it says “to be notified later” next to the exam date. It is safe to assume that a separate public notice shall be issued soon, informing about the dates for the state entrance examination.
