National Testing Agency has earlier announced that JEE Main 2022 examination session 1 shall be held from April 21, 24, 25 and 29, 2022. The registration process for session 1 is already going to end tomorrow, March 31, 2022. However, amidst this, the students are now demanding the postponement of the examination. It must be noted that the agency had earlier revised the JEE Main exam dates by at least 5 to 6 days to avoid any clashes with board exams.
What is the issue?
Just a month before the JEE Main 2022 exam, students across the country have started protesting against the conducting of Session 1. As notified earlier, the exams shall be held in the last week of April 2022.
However, as per students, these dates are in a way clashing with the board exams preparations. For instance, the ICSE and CBSE board exams are scheduled from April 26. Now, students appearing for the JEE Main exam on April 25 and 29, shall suffer from the brunt of preparing for both the exams together. Moreover, students claim that there is no sufficient gaps between the board exams to allow preparation.
Apart from this, there are several state boards too whose exams are starting a day before or after the JEE Main exam thus impeding their studies.

The students have been reporting that they are under immense pressure as both the exams are equally important and may prove to be a milestone for their future careers. With that, it should be noted that keeping this date clash thing in mind, the NTA has already pushed the exam dates by a week. However, this does not solve the problem instead, it just fuelled the fire. Another problem that canddiates are facing is travelling back and forth. For instance, those whose JEE exam is on April 25 and board exam on April 26, may have to travel for both the exams thus leading to exhaustion.
What are the students demanding?
Now, the students are demanding that the JEE Main 2022 is conducted once the major papers for the board exams are over. For that, they are also seen pleading with the education minister Dharmendra Pradhan for his intervention. As of now, there is no reaction from the government or the agency itself regarding this whole matter.
