The Board’s chairperson Shakuntala Kale confirmed this news in a review meeting of the education department which was also attended by Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray and Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad.
In the meeting, Kale said, “The process to declare the results has been fast-tracked and the result of HSC will be declared by 15 July and the result of SSC will be declared by the end of July. Almost 97% answer sheets have been submitted by the examiners during the lockdown period and its scanning has also been fast-tracked”.
The results of the Maharashtra Board usually releases in the month of May-June but this year, the declaration of result got delayed due to the lockdown imposed in the whole nation because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases. The examination for Class 12th took place before the lockdown was imposed however, one paper of Class 10th i.e Geography could not be conducted because of the restrictions laid by the government to curb Coronavirus disease. Later, it was announced that the marks for the Geography paper shall be calculated according to the average of the 5 other SSC papers. Also, the vocational papers that are conducted for children with special needs were also cancelled. The calculation of the marks of the vocation papers will also be done according to the same average marks rule.

This year about 13 lakh students appeared for class 12th examination whereas, for class 10th examination, over 17 lakh candidates appeared. In order to qualify class 10th or 12, a student needs at least 35% marks in each subject. Last year, Maharashtra Board declared HSC result on May 28. On the other hand, the result for SSC was declared on June 08 at 1.00 PM.
