Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MBSHSE) will declare the results for SSC and HSC examinations 2020 in the month of July. The result for Maharashtra HSC (class 12th) exam is likely to be declared by July 15, 2020, whereas Maharashtra SSC (class 10th) result 2020 is expected to be out by the end of July. The students can check their Maharashtra Board exam results online at mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in or mahresult.nic.in.

The Board’s chairperson Shakuntala Kale confirmed this news in a review meeting of the education department which was also attended by Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray and Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad.

In the meeting, Kale said, “The process to declare the results has been fast-tracked and the result of HSC will be declared by 15 July and the result of SSC will be declared by the end of July. Almost 97% answer sheets have been submitted by the examiners during the lockdown period and its scanning has also been fast-tracked”.

The results of the Maharashtra Board usually releases in the month of May-June but this year, the declaration of result got delayed due to the lockdown imposed in the whole nation because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases. Till date, Maharashtra is one of the worst-hit states of India and the cases have been rising in the state continuously.

The examination for Class 12th took place before the lockdown was imposed however, one paper of Class 10th i.e Geography could not be conducted because of the restrictions laid by the government to curb Coronavirus disease. Later, it was announced that the marks for the Geography paper shall be calculated according to the average of the 5 other SSC papers. Also, the vocational papers that are conducted for children with special needs were also cancelled. The calculation of the marks of the vocation papers will also be done according to the same average marks rule.

This year about 13 lakh students appeared for class 12th examination whereas, for class 10th examination, over 17 lakh candidates appeared. In order to qualify class 10th or 12, a student needs at least 35% marks in each subject. Last year, Maharashtra Board declared HSC result on May 28. On the other hand, the result for SSC was declared on June 08 at 1.00 PM.

To check Maharashtra Board class 10th and 12th result, the students have to first visit the website mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in or mahresult.nic.in. After visiting the website, the students have to click on the relevant link of the result. Then, the students are required to enter their roll number and their mother’s first name. After entering the details, the students have to click on the ‘View Result’ button. Lastly, the students have to download the result and take a printout of it.

Once the results are out, the mark sheet is issued to the qualified students. It has to be collected by appearing in person at the respective schools. However, keeping in the difficult situation of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the students can also use Digilocker app to download the marksheet.
