The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), 2022 exam date has been announced at kvpy.iisc.ernet.in. The exam will be held on May 22, 2022.
The exam was to be conducted last month, but it was delayed due to the COVID pandemic. It was to be held on January 09, 2022, but it was again postponed. Now, it is to be conducted on May 22. The KVPY exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) every year to provide fellowships to eligible candidates. Admissions to IISc and the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) is also done through KVPY exam, based on additional criteria.
When will the admit card be released?
Keeping in line with the previous years, the admit card for the KVPY exam was released around 3 weeks prior to the exam. Therefore, it can be concluded that the admit card for this year will be released by the last week of April or the first week of May.

How to download the KVPY 2022 admit card?
Once the admit card is out, the candidates can follow these steps to download the KVPY admit card.
Step 1: Head to the website kvpy.iisc.ernet.in.
Step 2: In the home page, click on the ‘Download KVPY – 2021 Admit Card’ link.
Step 3: Enter KVPY User ID and password in ‘Candidate Login’.
Step 4: Select the ‘Admit Card’ tab besides the ‘Personal details’ tab.
Step 5: Click on the blue icon to download the admit card.
KVPY exam
The KVPY exam is conducted for 3 streams based on the qualifications of the candidate.
- SA stream: Students who have passed class 10 exams or are enrolled in class 11.
- SX stream: Students enrolled in Class 12.
- SB stream: Students who have passed Class 12 or are enrolled in an Undergraduate programme in Basic Sciences.
The SA stream exam is usually conducted in the morning session, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while the SX/ SB exam is conducted from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
KVPY exam 2022
Questions in the exam are asked from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours and the total weightage of the exam is 100 marks. There are 2 parts in the KVPY question paper for all the streams. Part 1 questions carry 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers. Part 2 questions carry 2 mark each, with a negative marking of 0.5 mark. Candidates can attempt the KVPY exam either in English or Hindi.
