Follow up – Within seconds of publishing this story, the notification for KEAM 2021 exam date was published by CEE Kerala.
KEAM 2021 exam is supposed to be held on July 2021, as per the official notice by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams (CEE), Kerala dated April 26, 2021. Also, the application process of KEAM 2021 was to begin soon, as notified on March 26, 2021, via another official notice.
The exam conducting month for KEAM 2021 was announced via the notice with the subject: CG&AC-DGE-HSE-CG & AC- KEAM ENTRANCE EXAM- ORIENTATION -REG, on the website dhsekerala.gov.in. On the other hand, the information regarding the application process was shared with the notice for certificates needed to apply for KEAM 2021, on cee.kerala.gov.in. The notice read that the “Applications for KEAM 2021 will be invited soon”.
Hints on the KEAM exam date and application process were given officially in March and April. After that, so far no latest updates have been released.
Therefore the exam date and the application form released details of KEAM 2021 were announced back in April and March receptively. However, the forms have yet not been released. After April no update has been provided further on Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) 2021.
Kerala Engineering, Agricultural Medical (KEAM 2021) exam is broadly a state-level engineering entrance exam. It is organized by the Office of the Commissioner of Entrance Exams (CEE), Kerala for admission to various UG programs in the disciplines of Engineering, Medical & Allied Sciences, Architecture, Agriculture, and Pharmacy. Direct admission through KEAM is conducted for B.Tech courses only.
On the other hand, candidates seeking admission to B.Arch have to qualify NATA 2021, and those seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, BAMS, BSMS, BHMS, BUMS, B.Sc. (Hons) Agri/Forestry, B.V.Sc. & AH, and B.F.Sc. have to qualify NEET 2021 exam.
Reportedly, more than 90000 candidates applied for KEAM in 2019 while in 2020, the number of applicants was approximately around a lakh. Last year, the KEAM exam was initially scheduled to be held in April. However, it was rescheduled due to CIovid-19 and was conducted on July 16.
In the state of Kerala, the class 12 board exams have been conducted between April 8 – 26, 2021. However, Kerala Plus Two result is delayed as the evaluation process has been postponed till further order due to the surge in covid-19 cases.
Last year, KEAM 2021 exam was held in offline mode. The exam had 2 papers and both the papers consist of objective-type questions. Paper 1 was Physics & Chemistry and paper 2 was Mathematics. Each paper was of 150 minutes. There were 120 questions in each paper. 4 marks were awarded for each correct answer and -1 marks were deducted for each wrong answer.
To apply for this exam, the applicant must have passed the Class 12th exam from a recognized Board / Institute. One must have achieved the specified minimum marks (45% for B.Tech) in the qualifying exam. And, candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as of the cut-off date.
